Beginning in the early 1950s, famed German aircraft engineer Fritz Fend brought his aeronautical expertise to the automotive world and built the Messerschmitt Kabinenroller.

The three-wheeled, single-door “Kabinenroller” (“Cabin Scooter” in English) was produced in two main variants. First came the KR 175 in 1952, instantly recognizable by its aircraft-style bubble canopy. Over the next three years, using the KR 175 as a template, the vehicle was almost totally redesigned, including upgrades such as wheel cutouts in the front fenders and an improved canopy design. Thus, in 1955, the KR 200 was unveiled.

On the Brudeli 654L the foot boards stay parallel to the ground and the rest of the vehicle leans at an angle of up to 45 degrees. Two wheels in front provide a short braking distance. This is the best way to travel on a three wheeled motocycle if speed and curves are involved.

Economy is important since energy prices are a factor. These small efficient vehicles are practical and solve transportation issues for many people.

Many have enclosed lightweight bodies, much like automobiles. Some are simple and others are luxurious. They have all the safety features such as head and tail lights. Many people in the younger generation are buying and using these vehicles daily.

Motorized Quadricycles

The first motorized quadricycles were called "horseless carriages". In 1895 a newspaper contest resulted in the name "Moto Cycle" meaning "moving rapidity (moto) on a cycle". In 1898 "Modern Machinery" magazine had an article about the Moto Cycle.  During the era before mass production many small shops built a lot of custom variiations. Some became popular and were produced in small numbers for sale to the public.
