Of all the celebrations only birthday parties can be relied upon to honor an individual every year regardless of his achievements. • Start early putting things aside from each week's grocery money for the party. For instance buy a cake mix one week. Buy candles the next week. Buy the icing the following week. Buy snacks the last week since these will be eaten if found! Grocery brands have a very long shelf life and this will allow time to utilize sales and coupons.
• Put gifts and other more expensive items in layaway. This is usually going to allow about a month to spread out payments. Most stores have a generous layaway policy that lets the layaway be canceled with most of the money (other than a service fee) to be refunded.
