Bmw Motorcycles For Sale In Lincoln Ne

The Bayerische Motoren Werke AG commonly known as BMW is an independent company founded in Germany in the early 1900s. The German company started out by manufacturing aircraft engines, then went on to producing motorcycles and finally in 1929 they started the activity that made them famous today: designing and building automobiles.

BMW are well known for splitting their models into series that are identified by digits as follows: the even numbered series are comprised of 2-door cabriolets and coupes, and the odd numbered series are comprised of estate/wagon and saloon/sedan models. The BMW 1 Series is comprised of two vehicles: one that was launched in late 2004 and the second, a 3-door vehicle, which was launched in the summer of 2007. A third coupe/convertible model was announced for late 2007.

The E90 is the latest of BMW 3 Series models and it is available as a sport coupe convertible (E93), sport coupe (E92), sport wagon (E91) and the initial sport sedan (E90). Recent additions to the 3 Series include the X3 Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) presented in 2004, redesigned for 2007 and fitted with an advanced all wheel drive system, "Enhanced DSC" stability control, X-drive update, engine upgrade, suspension adjustments and many more. Also inspired by the 3 Series is the BMW M3 coupe/convertible, an award winning vehicle with unique geometry. For 2008 the BMW M3 will be fitted with a Formula 1 inspired V8 engine.

When BMW took the time to experiment and combine new ideas and new technologies into one medium sized executive/luxury car the result was the BMW 5 Series. For 2008 the luxury 5 Series car is redesigned inside and out and is fitted with a new 6-cylinder motor. The options of diesel and a V8 engine are also available. After fifteen years of absence from the BMW lineup the luxury sport coupe 6 Series returned in 2004 with both coupe as well as coupe convertible versions available. Updated versions of the 6 Series were released in the summer of 2007 and updated versions of M6 coupe and cabriolet are expected on the market soon.

The BMW 7 Series is the place where all innovations in the BMW lineup make their debut. The vehicles that comprise the 7 Series come with almost all types of motors from V8 and V12 to supercharged V8. One of BMW's future additions to the super car lineup will be the Z10, a vehicle fitted with a V10 engine resulting in 550 horse power expected to cost up to USD$ 150,000. The aluminum and carbon fiber built vehicle will probably make its debut on the market in early 2008.
